With a population of approximately 24,000 people, Dundas is a formerly independent town that is now part of the city of Hamilton in Ontario, Canada. Downtown Dundas is thriving, with many restaurants, boutiques and businesses, many of which are housed in well-preserved 19th century architecture. Prior to being called "Dundas" the town was called Coote’s Paradise, and renamed to Dundas in 1814.
