THE NO LIST

We’re not trying to be difficult, promise. There’s a reason we don’t accept these items in our bins, and it’s because they contain poisonous or toxic metals or chemicals that will leach into soil and water if they’re not disposed of properly. Plus, it’s illegal for us to take them to the dump. Fortunately, most municipalities have a household hazardous waste program. Check out your city or town’s website or call the waste management department to find out how you can safely dispose of these items. Most pharmacies will take back expired or unneeded medication and used syringes.
